IAC Acoustics has been responsible for supplying more than 6,700 m2 of noise barrier panels for the F-35 Campus in Skrydstrup.
IAC Acoustics has been one of the selected suppliers of noise barriers for the F-35 Campus project by The Danish Ministry of Defence Estate Agency. The newly constructed F-35 Campus is used daily by Fighter Wing Skrydstrup and forms the setting for Denmark’s new F-35 fighter jets. The building complex is enclosed by a 13-meter high noise-dampening structure, where the lower half is an earthen embankment and the upper part consists of noise barriers.

IAC Acoustics was engaged in the project to provide noise barriers around the open hangar structures where the new F-35 fighter jets will be stored, maintained, and repaired. IAC Acoustics was responsible for supplying more than 6,700 square meters of noise barrier panels—both single-sided and double-sided sound-absorbing panels, which are placed on top of the established noise embankments.
The noise barrier panels are made of heavy steel plates to ensure that, with increased weight and density, the noise barrier can better block deep tones and low-frequency noise, which a regular noise barrier panel can only reduce to a limited extent. Additionally, the selected noise barrier panels have exceptionally high sound absorption values, in both the high-frequency and low-frequency noise spectra.

The significant mass and high sound absorption values make this noise barrier an excellent choice for noise screening around the F-35 Campus.
The noise barrier panels are made from galvanized steel plates with an exceptionally thick zinc coating, which is directly connected to the robust hot-dip galvanized steel pillars. This connection of steel plus zinc to steel plus zinc creates a maintenance-free, corrosion-resistant surface designed to last over 25 years in a C3 environment.
